Adult ADHD Assessment

At The Spectrum Clinic, we offer comprehensive Adult ADHD assessments to help individuals gain a deeper understanding of their needs and access the support required to lead an ADHD-friendly life. ADHD, or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, can affect a person’s ability to concentrate, get organised, sit still, or manage relationships and work effectively. Many adults with ADHD experience impulsivity, difficulty regulating emotions, and challenges with mood stability. If these difficulties sound familiar, our ADHD assessment can provide clarity and guidance.

Why Choose The Spectrum Clinic for ADHD Assessment?

Our team of registered clinical psychologists and HCPC registered clinicians is highly experienced in conducting thorough ADHD assessments for adults. Each of our clinicians adheres to NICE guidelines, ensuring that every step of your assessment follows the highest standards of clinical practice. Our process ensures that the presence or absence of ADHD symptoms is meticulously evaluated using Gold Standard tools.

We understand the importance of being thorough, but we also value your time and aim to provide a timely diagnosis with a detailed and personalised report, all while maintaining complete confidentiality.

The Adult ADHD Assessment Process

Our Adult ADHD assessment process is structured to gather comprehensive information while making the experience as comfortable and straightforward as possible. The process involves the following key steps:

  1. Initial Questionnaires:
    • After booking, you will receive questionnaires to complete. These will include questions about your medical history, family background, and current difficulties.
    • We will also ask for input from someone who knows you well (if available) to gather additional context.
  2. Mental Health and Psychological Assessment (approximately 60 minutes):
    • An initial clinical session focused on understanding your mental health background, symptoms, and any co-occurring issues.
  3. Specialist ADHD Interview (DIVA) (90-120 minutes):
    • The DIVA (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults) is a structured interview designed to assess the key symptoms of ADHD in both childhood and adulthood.
  4. QbCheck - Computerised Symptom Assessment:
    • This computerised assessment helps measure ADHD-related behaviours such as attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity in a reliable, data-driven manner.
  5. Multi-Clinician Review:
    • Our team of clinicians will analyse the evidence, including questionnaires, interviews, and the QbCheck results, to determine whether you meet the criteria for ADHD.
  6. Feedback Session (about 30 minutes):
    • Once the assessment is complete, you will receive feedback on the diagnostic outcome and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
  7. Outcome Letter and Final Report:
    • You will receive an outcome letter within 48 working hours of your feedback session.
    • A full, detailed report, including recommendations for managing ADHD, will be delivered within 4 weeks of your initial session.

All our ADHD assessments are conducted remotely via our secure online platform, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your own home. Our clinicians are experienced in online assessments and ensure that every aspect of the process is as accurate and efficient as possible.
